Die Konferenz „Agriculture in an Urbanizing Society” hat die multifunktionale Landwirtschaft und Stadt-Land-Beziehungen im Fokus. 2015 wird sie unter dem Motto „Reconnecting Agriculture and Food Chains to Social Needs” vom 14. bis 17. September in Rom abgehalten.
„Developments go fast: there is a growing interest among people living in urban environments in the origin of our daily food and in the development of short, recognizable sustainable food chains. Moreover, we see a growing number of local initiatives of local food production in urbanized areas. Besides local food production for consumption, the focus of these initiatives is on the effects of growing local food on health aspects, social cohesion and education.”
In der langen Liste von geplanten Arbeitsgruppen sind einige mit durchaus städtischen Themen wie urbane Landwirtschaft oder die Verknüpfung von Planung und Ernährungssystem. Gerade wurde der Call for Abstracts veröffentlicht, bis zum 31. März wird um die Einsendung von Themenvorschlägen gebeten.
